As with all ideas and dreams bringing them to the surface as a reality means many hours of planning. One dream of the ACEF is to expand on the educational side of educating the dog judges, potential dog judges, breeders, handlers and exhibitors. The breed parent clubs and their Judges Educational Coordinators spend a tremendous amount of time and finances to produce quality information concerning the judging of their breed. We applaud this effort and are truly grateful for this commitment. The ACEF believes breed education belongs with the Parent Club. Attending a National Breed Show is by far one of the truly great educational experiences available to become knowledgeable on a particular breed. The education lasts throughout the National Show which can be several days. This option, however, is not always feasible either in time, finances or both.
The American Canine Education Foundation is looking forward to bringing together BREED Presenters in a workshop to discuss all aspects of breed presentation. We understand that a breed presenter can NEVER cover all that is covered at a National Shows. Many presentations throughout the Country take place at All-Breed Dog Shows. There is limited time for these presentations. The Presenters Institutes would explore the various techniques involved in Breed Presentations. Plans would be to come up with a consensus and recommendations on presenting Breeds with a limited time schedule. The Presenters Institutes could also cover some dos and don'ts as well as media use. If you would be interested in attending or participating actively in the administration of a Presenters Institute please CLICK HERE or contact Lt. Col. Wallace Pede' or Nina Sherrer.
